Hi! I’m Francesca Skjærbæk, a certified Speech-Language Pathologist, CCC-SLP, originally from the United States and now based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

For as long as I can remember, I have dreamed of becoming a speech-language pathologist and one day opening my own practice. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Mississippi and later completed my Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Florida.

I am passionate about supporting children and families through early intervention, play-based therapy, and individualized care for speech, language, communication, and feeding challenges. I have a special clinical interest in pediatric feeding disorder, PFD, and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder, ARFID, and I enjoy helping children build safe, functional, and positive relationships with eating and communication.

My feeding therapy background includes training and experience in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, the SOS Approach to Feeding, and Beckman Oral Motor Therapy. These approaches allow me to support oral motor development, feeding skills, and functional communication in a child-centered and evidence-based way.

I have worked with children with a wide range of needs, including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, auditory and language processing difficulties, executive functioning challenges, articulation 

disorders, developmental language disorders, Down syndrome, childhood apraxia of speech, and other developmental and communication differences.

My goal is to provide safe, individualized, and clinically informed therapy that helps each child feel supported, confident, and understood while building meaningful skills for everyday life.
